For many years, the white cake has been the go-to for receptions. While these cakes are classic and timeless, the wedding cake is due for a fun upgrade! Here are some cakes that are a little less traditional, but will make a statement at your wedding!!

Here is the cake from Dale and Meredith's reception...love LOVE the gold details on the turquoise background!! If you don't want to stray too far from the traditional cake, here is an example that will still add some pizazz to your reception! In love with this gold cake draped in white flowers! Yes, yes... dessert is today! I bet you didn't know that I'm not much of a cake person. Or really, a sweets person. I'm a calorie counter and I carefully choose what I put into my stomach. That is, unless it's from <a href="http://shelbylynnscakeshoppe.com">Shelby Lynn's</a>. No, I'm serious! Jennifer (owner of Shelby Lynn's Cake Shoppe, and Food Network competition winner many times over) has my number when it comes to flavors of yummy cakes and confections. Not only that, but her creativity and designs blow my mind (I wrote about that when I discussed my wedding cake). So, it shouldn't surprise you that I was blown away when I showed up to Pratt Place for the styled shoot and I saw three cake masterpieces awaiting my camera. How does she do it?! And the cherry on top (yeah, terrible pun) is that she's as sweet as pie (there I go again). Oh and a special little shoutout to <a href="http://eventurespartyrentals.com">Eventures Party Rentals</a> for sending over plates, wine glasses, tables, chairs, and other lovely items! <a Hey everybody! Happy Thanksgiving!  I appreciate you stopping by the blog today, especially if you're showing it off to some relatives (and even more if said-relative is engaged!). :) I'm thankful for my job.  I get to work with the coolest clients on the best days of their lives, and with a group of vendors that I have been lucky enough to call my friends!  At Alex and Lauren's Fayetteville Town Center reception, I got to work with not only some of the best wedding vendors in the area, but also some of the greatest people I know!  I have a good life! Hey everybody! I can't begin to explain my giddiness about this amazing wedding reception at the Fayetteville Town Center.
